Fan cooler for laptop

Hi

Can anyone recommend a "fan cooler" to go underneath my laptop to cool it down in this weather ... please.

I have it standing on two books on each end of the laptop with a space for air to go through, but it still gets very hot. It's an HP laptop, about 5 months old.

So anything that's not too expensive please, but nothing too cheap that it doesn't work.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Before you spend your hard earned cash, it may be worth checking your machhine is ok.

A new machine should not be having overheat problems unless you are blocking the vents

Nope, not blocking the vents - I keep making sure of that.

Could there be dust in there that's making it hot?

Could be... or a faulty fan or problem with Laptop.

On a bog standard machine that you buy from the shops, you should not have these problems in month 5. I would suggest back up and take it to your retailer. Why should you spend money, it shoudl be able to cool itself without intervention.

Have a search for "StarTech UltraLight Quiet Notebook Cooler" or "Antec Notebook Cooler" which are both cheap options too.

The Belkin one above seems good too, but it only has one fan though.
  • Look at these sites....you may be having the same problems as a lot of people are with HP laptops:
Can't use links so search in Google for HP Lies and HP Hell munnday

May be worth taing it back to the shop before your warranty runs out.
