The lights go dim???

Our shower dims our lights too, modern high power showers do (ours is 10.5kw) which was the most powerful I could get at the time, about 15 months ago.
Power showers are more enviromentally damaging than baths, ordinary showers are the best, as long as you keep it quick.
Our next-door-neighbours have recently had a power shower fitted. We can hear when they turn it on. It vibrates through the walls. It's quite good at waking us up if we oversleep. Our party wall is a very solid 1940's one too.
Of course it depends on the size of your bath. Our bath is a large cast iron one, but only gets used 2 or 3 times a month. I stayed in a Motel last month in Cardiff. The bath there was tiny. I sat in it with my feet up one end and my back up the other - and I'm only 5'4". I couldn't lie down without putting my feet and legs up the wall - not easy when you're 5 months pregnant and you are there on your own!

Changing the subject ever so slightly ;D
In my conservatory (10'x 12') I have a oil filled electric heater, only a year old. I have been using it a lot lately, often for hours on end during the day and over night, as my cats sleep out there. I am wondering how much electricity they use and should I expect a large bill. Thanks. Btw its not a large heater only about 5-6 rungs (similar to old school type radiators).
I only use it when its really cold though, i have noticed as they are now not spending hours in central heating, nature has kicked in and they have excellent winter coats and not moulting so much!!! ;D0
