Hello all, thank you all very very much!!
I am a newcomer here and think I shall put it in an ISA.. can I put in a couple of ISA's and still get them tax free..?
Thank you all again

Only if you open and fund one Cash ISA with £3,600 before Sunday 5th April (end of 2008/9 tax year) then another £3,600 on or after Monday 6th April (start of 2009/10 tax year). You can only pay new money into one Cash ISA per tax year... can I put in a couple of ISA's and still get them tax free..?
If your Cash ISA, opened & funded, before 5th April permits additional deposits, then you can simply pay your 2009/10 allowance into that one, rather than starting a completely new one on or after 6th.
As you can see, from the above dates - you need to sort this out very quickly.0
