Nationwide ISA's -rubbish interest HELP
JOBEN
Hi
I have an ISA with £1100 in and my husbands has £3200, the interest rate with nationwide is 0.25%, I know thats bad.
Anyway my questions are,
1) i want to transfer it to another provider, do I have to wait until the 6/4 to open it up?
2) which provider will be the best? I intend putting £250 a month away and wont be touching it all year. Can you recommend where to go.
Thanks in advance
Jo

1) No
2) Look at somewhere like moneyfacts and choose a new ISA. Make sure it allows transfers in.
Do not 'close' your N/W ISA - ask your new provider to transfer it ( or you'll lose the tax allowance)0 -
I have just transfered my Cash Isa in a fixed interest Isa bond which pays 3.30% within Nationwide.Yung

You can transfer your ISA's when you like as long as they are not Fixed rate ISA's, you only have to wait for a new tax year to add funds if you have used your ISA allowance for the current year.

You can transfer at any time - Cash ISA transfers are not affected by tax year start/end dates. You can't, however pay new money into your ISA until 6th April or later.1) i want to transfer it to another provider, do I have to wait until the 6/4 to open it up?
Remember that the new ISA provider must arrange the transfer, not you - you merely complete the new provider's transfer form.
The first thing you need to do is check which Cash ISAs accept transfers (not all do) - take a look through this post for those which accept transfers, read right through it, as it shows all 'best buys', not just those that accept transfers.2) which provider will be the best? I intend putting £250 a month away and wont be touching it all year. Can you recommend where to go.0
