British Gas sent bill invoices for £0, then now say i owe them £167!!!

Ok I called them this morning and the lady just said that was the bill on the close of my account on 5th Febuary...
And that i had phoned them up and given them that reading. :huh:


I told her i had never closed my account and that it must have been my nextdoor neighbour, as he moved out of his flat about 2months ago.


She just went away somewhere for a few minutes, then came back saying she would tell their billing department that i hadnt closed my account.


And so i just said bye then.



Kind of an inconclusive call though since i still am not sure how much they are trying to charge me each month,
but when i get the next bill from them il see if they are charging me £0 again, or going to ask me for some money from now onwards.

Sounds like you spoke to a numpty. Try again. Don't leave it - you could end up with disconnection charges etc.
