Help needed/cheapest decent full service

Hi all,

Recently my car has been making a very loud noise, particularly when accelerating, which I suspected was the exhaust. Then this morning whilst going up hill it started juddering a lot and making more noise than before. It also became less responsive when accelerating and a bit underpowered.

On the way home I went to Charlie Browns and they replaced the exhaust which cleared up the noise and most of the juddering, but it's still underpowered and juddering a bit.

Now it's overdue a servicing by about a month (last one was mid March last year) and I've done a lot of miles in that time (probably around 15k), so the plugs and oil needs changing especially. Does anyone know whether that could be the problem?

Also, does anyone know any good deals on a full servicing as I'm skint (as usual!)

It's a mk 4 Ford Fiesta Zetec if that helps at all...

Cheers :)

if your skint but a bit handy i would invest in a haynes manual and borrow some tools and service it yourself, oil, filter, air filter and plugs are easy to change.
dont know what could be causing the lack of power though, maybe clean the throttle body out.the new plugs might also help.

Cheers mate, I may well do that. Can you get all this stuff in Halfords?

yes you can, go to halfords, they have little flip charts for you to select you make model from and it gives you the part numbers you require. then just select them from the shelf.
another tip if your using halfords is to check the halfords trade card thread thats on this site,do a forum search for halfords trade card. ;) you could save a few quid. or alternatively go to a local motor factors.
