New Currys Compaq Presario - the Cd drive

Is it just me or is there a huge design flaw in the Compaq Presario 1709?
There's a flap in front of the dvd drive with an eject button.
Press this button and the drive ejects bringing the flap down.
But the button's on the flap which is now almost vertical so you can't use the button to move the caddy back in.
So you have to actually physically push the caddy which is almost certain to lead to problems later.
Can a big company really be be so moronically stupid?
Is this a legal case of substandard manufacture?
