Cash Deposit Limits

Options
Hi!

I've been saving money for some time now and I wanna pay it into a bank. It's all legit. and comes to 5k, but I was wondering what the limit is when paying cash into an account? I know there's this whole Money Laundering thing and so I don't want them to have to investigate me because that just looks bad! So I was wondering how much can I walk into the bank with and pay in without any questions? I mean like I said, I've been saving in and it's not too big a sum. For example at the Bingo (Gala) you can win between 1k and 5k on the REGIONAL cash prize...and that's paid in CASH (anything over in cheque form) so if it was a bingo prize; how would one prove that? Likewise if I sold my car and it was sold for 4k, would they question me?

Just like to know my limits please :)

Anyone telling you those limits could be found guilty of aiding and abetting money laundering, so it's not something you're likely to get an answer for.

If your money is legit, pay it in. If questions are asked for whatever reason, you have nothing to hide.

The indicative figure is €15000 for cash (used to be £10,000 .... but higher now).

But it also very much depends on how well your Bank know you .... as to whether it will raise ML eyebrows.

When I worked for Natwest we had upwards of £30k being paid in in cash in some transactions.

There was no limit for cash being deposited.

Just say you sold a car. :)
