Security Camera Software

Has anyone got any recommendations on software to either record to video or record to jpg for a security camera? I'm currently using Supervision Cam which has a freeware version available but it hasn't been updated since 2005 and it's starting to show.

The camera is plugged into a PCI tv card and captures from the S-Video port, a few program support this but not all. I'd love to get a decent bit of software that is more capable of recording. At present the current software records a few GB's of data a day and its a pain to search through it all.

This isn't exactly CCTV software.... however...

When i needed to take proof of a mouse in my kitchen... I set my webcam up on motion detect.... when the nipper came out - it took pictures every 2 seconds....

How far away is your camera?

The camera is outside and on about 10 metres of cable. Goes into the TV, out the TV and into the PC so I can record it through there. Its outside and all setup so can't easily change it.
