Reclaiming charges???

Read on here that the charges are pretty much illegal and asking for them back could be enough for them to give them you. I however have 1 problem. I know I've paid charges on credit cards and on my bank account but they were all a while ago and so I have no record of how much and to who.

Will these companys give me the records so that I can ask for my money back??? It doesn't seem to likely

Can I just send the letter saying I want my money back??? Without the detail I surely won't get too far will I???

Do I just have to accept that as these were a while ago I've missed the boat???

You can write to them to request statements for the last six years. Check out the thread on Banking and current accounts 'illegal charges' there are also sites you can go to like The Bank Action Group http://idigital.vm.bytemark.co.uk/bag/forum/
