Peugeot 206 verve boot problem

Have the above car, boot is not working through central locking (Can not get in, apart from through the back seats.
Any suggestions from any mechanics on here? before I take it to a dealer:confused:

    First thing is to check the wiring where it enters the tailgate, quite common for the wires to break at this point, simply due to constant opening and shutting the tailgate. Just pull the rubber cover back and give the wires a gentle tug, you'll soon see if any are broke.

    Failing that you'll need to remove the trim and see if you've got power up to the central locking solenoid. If so it's probably a knackered solenoid.

    does the door open manually with the key/ pulling the buttons up?

    Have you oiled the locking mechanisms?
