Anyone heard of Centro?

Don't really know where to post this.Got a call from Centro, they believe there is a loophole with most mortgages before 2007.They have offered to check mine. All I have to do is send a cheque for £10 and one for £79 both refundable if no claim is realised. They take 25% if they find you some money.Anyone heard of them?

Sounds like a scam. Do they mention what this loophole might be?

Don't mention the loophole. Can reclaim credit card charges and charges on personal loans. My husband feels for the £89 it's worth the risk!

The only loop hole I know of in relation to mortgages is the admin exit fee charged. This may give rise to a refund of upto a couple of hundred at the most and can be quite easily claimed yourself as can credit card charges and personal loan charges.

Seemingly this company are regulated by Claims Regulation.gov.uk and have a company number etc.If they don't get you any money back you get your cheque for £79 returned.I'll give it a try and let you all know what happens.
