Hi There
I'm looking to fly for the first time to America this Sept / Oct . I'm not too fussy where , although East coast such as Washington would be nice and different from NY . I live in NE England but could fly from almost anywhere is need be . The best price I have is £450 return from Teeside to Washington by Icelandair . Is this good or can anyone suggest any alternatives ? I haven't a clue where to start to look !!!

You should be able to pick up at flight for that time of year, for a couple of hundred pounds, at least from London. Lots of competition on these routes, including courier flights. It should be better to wait. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Sept/Oct isn't the really low season, but a fare of £300-400 should be about right. Your quote is probably high because it's from Teeside - try searching from Manchester or London and you'll do better. I wouldn't leave it long to book though, as prices are unlikely to go down.0
