those who opened an Egg ISA more than a few weeks ago are stuck with an old Egg ISA account.
now Egg have opened a new Egg ISA 2 with a "sizzling" higher interest account.

old Egg ISA's cannot be converted to Egg ISA 2 - and in fact Egg ISA 2 does not accept transfers-in at all(from egg ISA or another provider)
seems like Egg is telling me to transfer my £ from Egg to a new provider !!!

sure thats what I meant (though maybe should have said more clearly)
I'll be transfering my egg to a new provider in 2 weeks - if egg's rate had stayed competitive I might have stayed with them
I was just making sure everyone know their Egg ISA's weren't the new ones - not could they be converted.
I know thats what providers do to get new custom but bah .....0 -
Yeah I was more than a little miffed by this. If you do open one of these ISA 2 things then you're stuck earning 1.5% on your existing savings for the year. Not cool, I'll be leaving Egg's ISA service too.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0

It's a shame, but I really liked the way Egg ran their ISA, really straightforward to use and a nice website. Still, I can't afford to be sentimental and at 1.55% they can poke it!
DD stopped so that it doesn't accidently go over to next year (managed to cram a last £300 in there the other day). Roll on April 6th!0
