  • My friends husband who is a taxi driver found this company online who specialise in taxi insurance www.majorsave.com
They gave him a great price and he said the staff were very helpful.
He took his policy out with them and received his documents next day.

If I were you I would go into a local broker and ask them for a quotation.

The reason I say this is your car is your income, we get lots of Taxi drivers come to us because there taxi was off the road for a few days as their Insurance Documents did not come through on time or they lost them. A lot of councils will take you off the road until you show them proof of insurance they are happy with. If your with a local broker rather than someone at the other end of the country you can normally go in and get a covernote etc there and then. The other reason is if you have an accident you will want the taxi repaired asap, if you use a local broker you can go in to see them and get them to do all the leg work rather than speaking to someone at the other end of the country.

It might cost you a few quid more but could save you a lot more in the long run.

P.S If someone quotes you with Tradex I personally recommend you run a mile!
  • I was a PH driver up to October last year....I used this company

The site is under reconstruction at the moment but give them a ring.
They always searched for the best policy price for me at renewal time.
Very good service...Swinton and Westminster couldn't hold a candle to them.
I know we all live in different areas and such but they were always good to me.
This company were very good claims management in case you had a non fault bump
