TV License question

If we set up a new TV license in our new property & leave the old one to run in our previous home, will the current tenants get a reminder to renew?
Or if we cancel it will they get a 'to the occupier' notice to buy one?
We've recently moved and didn't realise we could take our license with us. We know the tenants who have taken over and they are nice people so thought of leaving our license to run, but wasn't sure whether we would be allowed to. If we weren't & cancelled, we wouldn't want the occupiers to be stung for not having a license....if that makes sense?!

You can still transfer your licence now.
The old house isn't your problem any more !0 -
Thanks Moonrakerz. We have already set up a new one here so I thought it would be too late. I know it's not our problem, but the people who are in there now have been through a lot & I thought that it'd be a nice gesture to let them have the last couple of months of our license. They have a little one & the chap has just been laid off, we have been there ourselves so figured that every little helps for them.Watch out people. That's very nice.
What you can do is transfer the old licence into their name. Can I transfer my licence to another person, as I'm moving out?
Yes. You can transfer your TV Licence to someone who is living at your address and is covered by your current licence. However, as a TV Licence is a legal authorisation given to the person named on it, you will need to give your written permission to do this.
