You will probably get it cheaper on eBay or generally on the internet. There is another way to get it free but it is a bit *cough* dodgy *cough*The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Depends on which Tom Tom you have. I am going to Portugal in the Summer and plan to take my GO 510 Tom Tom so I wanted to add maps of Western Europe. You can save money buying slightly older versions of maps and accepting there may be some inaccuracies.
CPC (link) do this - TOM TOM - 9A00.015 - DVD, WESTERN EURO TT MAPS
for £15+vat (£17.25) You get maps of Great Britain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Portugal and Andorra on a DVD which you can install and a sheet with the activation code. Search CPC for Item AV1360161
Worked fine for me covers all TomTom Go series, TomTom One and TomTom Rider units.
Here is the catch, CPC charge high postage on orders below £45+vat (Orders up to £29.99 (ex VAT) - charge £5.95 (ex VAT); Orders between £30 and £39.99 (ex VAT) - charge £4.25 (ex VAT). Orders between £40 and £44.99 (ex VAT) - charge £1.99 (ex VAT).
They sell an unbelievable range of stuff (100,000 lines) from cool bags to computers at some brilliant prices so its not a problem for me as I usually have a list on the go and easily order over £45 so post free, its worth poking around in case you need anything else. The special offers - bargain corner can be a gold mine.0 -

I got a tomtom one europe v3 (classic) a few months ago and was looking forward to using it in Tenerife (with a hire car) in January.
Well, it was a huge disappointment - absolutely hopeless. It had no idea of the one way system in Puerto de la Cruz and local data eg hotels was very poor. I gave up using it.
I hope others have had better experiences when using tomtom abroad.0 -
I have been using it for years , not the dodgy versions , and its never gave me a scary moment.
I fully update the map every december , this is a must , think of it as a mot.Plug in to net regularly to keep it working , think of this as servicing.
40 quid for a map update every year is cheap direct from TT.A decent paper euro mapbook isnt much cheaper , cant be updated on t'net and doesnt give audio instructions.
Legit beats a dodgy pirate software update everytime , it wont !!!!!! up the unit meaning a brand new one or install viri on your pc.I still have the v1 eu , its years old and use my old pda with tt3 as a back up when abroad.
Use regularly from northen scotland to southern spain , through france no problems...but do not rely on it as the safety experts always say , and if you do then.... http://www.therawfeed.com/2008/07/gps-has-caused-300000-car-accidents-in.html
http://www.lookout-below.com/gps-nearly-steers-man-off-cliff/
I hate it when they blame tt and gps for accidents , its the bloody drivers fault. In half of the cars your driving behind its either in the A zone of the screen or blocking the middle of it.This tells me how clever they are at driving.
gps aids the good driver but also highlights the stupidity of others.Gps tales in the news reminds us just how many people just shouldnt be on the road with us....or walking unsupervised for that matter , put them up there with walking texters crossing the road as proof of natural selection.
I always know better than my gps locally , i test it regularly and still choose not to follow it on certain routes for effiency in either fuel or or time. But perhaps its because its a womans voice that I just ignore it , typical man?
I sit it ontop right side of my dash (well below A zone)when in RHD car (reveresed in LHD).BY being next to the wing mirror I see whether I can safely change lanes to the more hazardous one , ie when entering faster traffic or sliproads. The stupid owners hear and move , not hear then MSBM.
The gps built into cars arent updated and are imo poorly positioned. The price of the update for them is silly compared to a tomtom.TT eu new 150 quid and updated for a year , gps unit built into car up to 1k and update cds/dvds can cost 150 - 350 quid.
ciaosHave you tried turning it off and on again?0
