Not sure if you are on a budget, but the Future Inn on Cardiff Bay sleeps up to 4 adults per room. We stayed there for a hen night and it only worked out at about £20 per person, 4 of us sharing in a room with 2 big double beds.

If you stay at future inns you will have to get taxi's to and from city centre.

Well you could. I wouldn't say you have to though. The bay is only about ten minutes walk from the city centre. Or there are regular busses, or some trains, or there are plenty of bars in that area anyway.

I know, I live there. I walk home from town after a night out but I don't think a Hen Party would want to. Could always go out in the bay instead but no 'clubs'. Bus or train into town taxi back best I think.

  • I stopped at the 'Big Sleep' in Cardiff last year. Only £50 for a double room with a buffet breakfast in the morning. Only 2 minutes walk from the main drag. It wasn't plush but it was certainly a comfortable place to crash out after a late night, and no taxi required.

  • Just came across this - I organised my lil sisters hen do in Cardiff at the end of Feb - what we did was theatre mattinee (7 brides for 7 brothers - her fave musical as a child - cheap seats at £9 each) which went down really well, then for a few cocktails in Henry's Bar (expensive though) and then to Valentino's for a meal - it's £8.95 for a 2 course meal (http://www.valentinocardiff.co.uk/) and there were about 20 of us so we had the whole upstairs to ourselves with a handsome Italian waiter who was very used to hens!! Then onto Minsky's - a drag queen club near debenhams - been there for 3 hen do's now and it's so much fun, their brilliant and its all cheesy music which I think you need on a hen do!! Only £3 a ticket and you can reserve the balcony so you have seats and space to dance! http://www.minskys-showbar.com/home.htm.

Hope that helps you! Have a good hen weekend xx
