Am I the only who person who thinks that this case is just going to drag on and on with no end in sight?
How many other appeals could realisticly be lodged if the Lords don't find in the banks favour?
This country has propped up the banks with taxpayers money, without our consent, whilst the bankers (sorry) just award themselves more bonuses or resign with goldplated pensions!
I just feel that the matter is being decided by people who have lost touch with everyday reality and don't comprehend what it's like having to worry about paying bills or eating because you can't afford both.
As far as the possibilty of the Lord's going away for a long holiday and delaying the case further I wish I could afford to take one myself!
Anyway settled now, going for cup of tea!0 -
What a joke. and no your not Carlos its outrageous there allowed to just waste more time and expense on this... yet more time wasting even though they said they wouldnt and they were told at the start not to, what happend to that? . more and more appeals october now.. wasting endless funds on laywers and excuse after excuse...
you can bet the stay continues allowing the banks to take even more money from there new even worse bank charging system
October after there nice long holiday, typical I'm joining the hardship wagon everyone seems to be getting somewhere with that after a week...
Shafted as usual... Back to normality0 -

Is that right (ex)Natweststaffmember, there is no-one else to appeal to after the House of Lords?0
-
The banks cannot appeal directly to the European Courts of Justice should they lose. The case can only be referred to it by the House of Lords themselves.0

What a surprise!
Didn't see that coming... not!
The guys at the House of Lords probably shared rooms with the heads of the banks at their posh all boys schools, they probably know each other very intimately and are always looking to scratch each others backs. Thats why these 'bankers' have been getting away with this for so long, the law is designed to protect them, not the public. House of Lords = Old boys club (who incidentally are above the law themselves - cash for laws scandal anyone?). We can kiss our reclaiming goodbye now, it's never gonna happen.0 -
Do you seriously think the case is going to be decided by the Lords of the House of Lords?
I've got my head in my hands...0 -

Did you actually think the case would be judged by the likes of Jeffrey Archer and Peter Mandleson?
You really need to do even the most basic research before you make sweeping statements based on nothing but your ignorance.
