TalkTalk broadband - can I use 1899 override?

I am new to broadband and I am thinking of signing up for the Talk Talk broadband bundle package before the offer ends tomorrow.

It includes broadband + free international calls (which I need for the US)
and it includes free UK calls evening and weekend only.

y question is, can I then use an override provider like 1899 to make UK daytime calls?

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

If you switch to using the Talktalk broadband and phone bundle (LLU), you can't use 1899 in the way you may have been using them. You can't just dial 1899 and then the telephone number you want.

You can however dial a freephone number and then wait for the command to dial the telephone number you want. It is a little bit more hassle. The freephone number you will need to dial is on the 1899 website.

I've just switched to Talktalk and found the anytime calls for £4 covers my landline calls and we only use the 1899 freephone number for mobiles and some international calls.

Thank you very much for your reply.

So if I take the TalkTalk bundle, can I call the USA for free anytime?
And you mention a £4 anytime ....is this an add on?
And does that mena with the £$ add on, I can then make unlimited UK calls 24/7?
    Thanks

I have the original talktalk package (Talk International Anytime)which comes to about £23 pm. It includes everything except mobile phones. I have friends in the US, Canada, Ireland and Australia and I speak to them frequently and at length for no extra charge. I can also phone mobiles in the US and Canada for no extra charge (but not UK Mobiles !!) UK calls are free 24/7.
I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

Yes, I believe the phone and broadband bundle on offer from Talktalk at the moment includes free calls to the USA.

Yes, the £4 for anytime landline (24/7) calls is an add on (boost as Talktalk call them) and is for UK landline calls.

Also, if you are thinking of going ahead make sure you check out the carphone warehouse offer for Talktalk as they are still offering a reduction, but possibly not for long.
