E.On prices - just checking my calculations, need help!
Hi,
Just wanted to check I'm not missing something obvious! I'm on a fixed tariff is that is lower that all E.On's non-fixed tariffs - so that's all good.
However, can someone tell me if I should stay on the fixed tariff I currently have (Price Protection 17)? I'm hoping I'm not going made, and that I seem to have a good deal at the mo...

Hi,
Your current tariff shows you did well to protect your prices when you did! :T
The good thing with this tariff as well is your prices could decrease further if there is another reduction in the future.
The best offer availbale at the moment is the FixOnline tariff, however this will literally fix the prices so you would not be eligible for a further decrease if we were to see one further down the line.
Any other questions wibbler, give me a shout!

It really depends on what your annual consumption is.
If you only use a small amount of energy (i.e. at the tier 1 rate) then you are better off on PP17.
However, as you can see, the tier 2 prices for electricity are less on FO, and once the extra 9.8% online discount is taken into account the tier 2 prices for gas will be cheaper too!
The only downsides with FO are that the price is fixed (but competitors are suggesting there will be no further price reductions this year, infact price rises are possible come next year) and the exit fees if you do wish to leave FO early."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
