Ok does anyone know why im getting this in search standing instead of my gallery picture?

I emailed ebay cus serv but got a ridiculous answer that had nothing to do with what i asked.

Its really frustrating as my listings have been up for a few days and these things arent going and are on about half of my listings.

Many thanks.

  • Its only in search or galery - when you click on the listing in search it does then bring up the right thing. Its just doing my nut as i know its one of those things that if i see it when browsing i dont really bother to click on it and i think others might just do the same. :(

It may just be me, but I don't understand what you are going on about! You seem to be blabbering on but not making the slightest bit of sense...proof read what you have written before you post it!

OP is stating that instead of a photo of her item there is the picture (as in her post) which is of a blank photo usually to indicate that the listing does not have a photo. They are stating that this only occurs in the gallery or search listings, but when you open their listing the correct photo of their item is there
Don't know what you're on about zenseeker, it's pretty obvious to me!

By the way OP, I don't know the reason for your problem, sorry, just thought I'd clarify that your question does make sense

  • Lol - the grey polaroid image at the top of my first post. I copied and pasted it in.

Lol, please tell me you can see it too.....i hope i'm not going nuts and i'm the only one to see it. If you don't see a grey ploaroid picture what do you see?

Basically on my laptop and on OH's when i ckeck 'sellers other items' on my listing i get the list of stuff i have for sale. But instead of gallery pictures i get this:

    2203856683028080_1.jpg

Which to me shows a grey polaroid picture and not the photo of the item.

Its only on some of my listings, others seem fine.

I sometimes get that picture when I am listing an item, on the summary screen before you submit, it appears for a couple of seconds before being replaced by the actual image. Listings appear OK though. Perhaps you need to hover over it for a couple of seconds for it to load. If you have paid for the larger gallery picture that may explain it, I think you have to hover over them, but not 100% sure as I have never used that feature.

I get that too, but it seems to fix itself after a while, just tends to affect new listings.
If google doesn't know it, how should i?
  • Yeah that is what i was hoping but a few of my listing have been like this for 5 days. Ebay cust serv were useless - but doesnt surprise me from teh feedback about them on here.

I'm really getting wound up as its stuff that would usually get more interest but it is getting next to none and from my own experience i tend to ignore those listing too :( i don't know whether to cancel the one bid and relist in the hope it'll fix itself and send a message to the bidder to explain.

Only one of those items has bids and the others have barely been looked at so i suppose i could. I'd lose listing fees too which is a pain. :(

Might be worth editing your listing, then removing the gallery option, saving your listing, then re-editing, turn gallery back on, and save again. May have just been a glitch and for whatever reason the thumbnail image was never generated.

Happens all the time to us.
    Go here: http://cgi5.ebay.co.uk/ws1/eBayISAPI.dll?DisplayGalleryImagePageV3&guest=1
You will need your item numbers. Put number in box, click continue, click create, once it's done click "done".
    :)
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

It's a common problem - the gallery images are stored on one server, the description on another. Every now and again the link betwene them breaks, so you need to refresh that.

Click this link, and enter the item number - http://cgi5.ebay.co.uk/ws1/eBayISAPI.dll?DisplayGalleryImagePageV3

No need to amend listings, edit, or remove gallery images etc.
