Nationwide never sent me a new card, advice?

Hello all, Happy April Fools Day (Gosh the amount of junk I had in my mailbox this morning was annoying).
I have a Nationwide Cashbuilder account and just found out whilst going through my wallet that my card has expired...in February of 2008
. Now I know my account is still there as I still get my statement but they never bothered to renew my card.
My question is can I just pop into a branch of Nationwide and request one or is it more complicated than that? I really do need the card as I'm going to be receiving payments into that account within this month.
Help please!

I think that you need to contact them or go into a branch to discuss this - how complicated the process is going to be will depend on the reason why you didn't get a replacement.
Is it a debit card or simply one that allows you to withdraw funds from your account via a Nationwide ATM ?
Like you say, if they had decided not to issue you with a new card for some reason, I would have expected them to send you a letter to tell you. Similarly, if they wanted you to pick up the new card from a branch (which sometimes happens, particularly if the postal service in your area is a bit dodgy) you'd need to be sent a letter to tell you this. So it sounds like either they sent a letter which has got lost somewhere in the journey, or (slightly more worrying) they sent a replacement card and that went astray in the post.
Only the Nationwide is going to be able to tell you which option applies, so I suggest you cntaoct them ASAP to find out.0 -
I would move that money somewhere else as it is earning 0.1% interest. Can you access your accounts online ? If so you can transfer the funds to other accounts without the card.
My InvestDirect account pays 0.2%, e-Savings 0.45%, Flexaccount 0%. The now unavailable Egg money credit card pays 4% on positive balances and 1% rebate on purchases, this is where I put my money.

It's a link Atm card. The post here has in the past been a bit didgy - not in the stealing sense (Well not for many years anyway  ) but in that I've received post months after the postmark on it. My last statement was last month and there was nothing changed or missing from the account. For all I know it may still be at my local post office!
I shall pop in tomorrow and sort it out, I'd have gone today but our village operates early closing on wednesdays and being a one woman branch it's unlikely to stay open after lunch!

I don't really worry about the interest, money is never in the account long enough to gain it! :rotfl: But I can't even transfer as I cannot sign up for the internet banking service, for some reason they do it for every other account type but mine. I had read about the egg money account, but I missed out!The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all.
