Indemnity Claims

Hi, I recently rang Sky and made my monthly payment. I didn't mean to do this as I wanted to cancel. I rang the bank to try and get this charge stopped and they said they couldn't so I ended up making an Indemnity claim. I have just checked my bank account and the money from Sky has come out.
Has anyone done a similar thing or have any advice for me as I am worried I wont get a penny back. This wasn't a standing order or direct debit, it was a one off card payment using the 16 digit number across the front of the card.
My bank is Alliance and Leicester

You have no right to an indemnity claim.
you willingly made the transaction.0 -
I don't understand, you phoned Sky with the intention of cancelling, but accidently gave them your card details instead?
Write to Sky and ask them for your money back.0 -

How did you accidentally pay your bill and enter the the 16 digits? If it has put your sky account in credit and you aer cancelling, they will refund the amount to you.0 -
You wont get anything back. Your indemnity claim will probably be denied.0

Well i rang to make my payment and then checked out Virgin Media, worked out its a lot cheaper. Just wished I had checkout out Virgin before I paid sky.
I was told by Sky that thats what I need to do to get my refund,0 -
and you wont get a refund as you need to give notice.
Frankly its ridicolous anyone at a bank or skys time is being wasted dealing with your frivolous claim. I hope they both bill you an admin charge for doing so.0 -
