Query about 10 year warrenty from Ernest Jones

Hello people - you guys have helped me out in the past and I could REALLY do with some advice please on this one.
I'll keep it as brief as I can.
6 years ago we purchase 2x wedding rings from Ernest Jones - we paid half cash and half 0% finance. The rings come with a 10 year guantee. A couple of months ago my diamond fell out of my ring and a month or so later my ring cracked directly under where the diamond was seated. And yes - to complicate this issue we have lost the original receipts.
Obviously I've contacted them and had zero help. They cannot help me one bit. They state they will have no record of the pruchase on they're system. I've tried contacting the company who arranged the finance and even they state they have no record of the finance agreement.
It's frustrating cos the ring is so important to me yet no one at Ernest Jones could give a monkeys.
any suggestions at all would be great.
Thanks
Danny

It may be covered under your home insurance if you have cover for items away from the home.
Bear in mind you will have to pay your excess towards the claim (£50 or upwards) and your premium may increase at the next few renewals. So if its a cheap diamond it won't be worth it.0 -

When you say cash, do you mean hard currency or debit card (as opposed to finance, I mean)? If card then your bank statements will show the purchase.
Did you have to pay for the guarantee? If it was included in the purchase then the proof of purchase itself will be proof of guarantee. If you had to pay additional, then the premium paid will be the proof.0 -
At 6 years old though its not covered by SOGA and they are entirelty at the discretion of Ernest Jones terms and conditions as to whether they qualify for a repair. If ernest jones demand a receipt they must have it.
Silly to lose the receipt in the first place.0 -
the part you paid in cash, they'll probably have little or no record of, but there should be some sort of paper trail for the finance? EJ can be real b*stards when it comes to stuff like this, but if you paid via finance, there should be records *somewhere*.0

Even if they do EJ may refuse without a receipt.0

I work for Lesie Davis who are the sister store to EJ, and the g/tee is based on you coming in to the store and we can clean and inspect the diamond for you and advise any work that might need doing.
Any normal wear and tear isnt covered by the g/tee but it doesnt state what is im afraid. Ive looked at mine g/tee and the inspection at the craftsman workshop is foc..if your local EJ won't help try another one that is close enough to try and get to.
Oh and till upgrades means that sadly we can only track purchases from Jan 06....it is annoying for both cust and staff and i think GE capital, the lenders, can only do so for that amount of time. Keep trying..not all stores aren't willing to help.0
