I have a 32'' lcd samsung tv and when there is a dark colour on the screen it shows up as red, it is worse when watching a dvd, we have tried swopping the scart leads around, the tv is 2 years old.

Does anyone know how to rectify this, I dont fancy haveing to buy a new tv.

Thanks for any advice

sounds like its knackered to me

Unplug everything except the mains cable

Then try ONE scart cable to your dvd player

If its still red try the OTHER scart cable

If still red unplug the dvd entirely and plug in the aerial and watch freeview. if it STILL does it then its knackered

We had this problem with a Sharp LCD TV that was only a week old. I rang Sharp and a man came round with a laptop, downloaded new software to it and it was fixed. I would not have believed it if I hadn't been there. Give Samsung a call even if it is out of warranty, might not be expensive to sort - this guy was only in the house 5 minutes.

    So the firmware became corrupt?
They must use some cr*p components in Sharp tvs!

Maybe it was just cr*p software. No problems a few years on, so the components must be OK. Engineer said something about about it losing its calibration settings IIRC.
