Anyone have a teacake Recipe ?

Hello,

Just wondered if anyone has a recipe for teacakes that I could make in the breadmaker (on dough cycle), I have had a search around the forum - but I can't seem to see one previously posted. OH and daughter love them !

Thanks in advance

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi

I am trying to find a recipe for tea cakes. The ones you split and toast.

We have taken a fancy to the Tesco Finest ones over Christmas so i thought I would try and have a go myself.

If anyone has a good recipe that has been tried and tested I would much appreciate it.

    Many thanks

Traditionally teacakes are made with yeast; I haven't used this exact recipe but it ais almost identical to the one which I do use ut don't have time to copy out:
http://www.yorkshirerecipes.co.uk/freeyorkshireteacakerecipe.htm - one and a half pounds of flour not twelve pounds!
While searching I also came across this recipe which does not use yeast:

I have been wondering this, since getting a new Panasonic BM for Christmas. I love teacakes! :j I wonder if you can use a spiced fruit loaf recipe, mix the dough in the BM then make teacakes from the dough?

German yeast means fresh baking yeast, as opposed to the stuff that they used to use to brew beer.
