My cat used to hate travelling but before OH and I were married we lived 100 miles apart so every other weekend she had to go up the motorway with me.
She was never sick, but would howl, so I used Feliway spray a couple of times which really calmed her down, and then she got used to it.
Now, she will just settle down in her basket and go anywhere with us, which is really handy. We take her to my mums and she doesn;t mind it at all.
Just persevere. I found she hated music being played so would put the radio on and the talking calmed her a bit, plus I had her on the front seat next to me so I could talk to her and rub her head through the bars.
It did take a few times before she clamed downa dn the howling drove me mad but now she is fine with it.
Try Feliway and persevere. You could also ask your vet about the being sick in case there is something they can give her. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
