Uninsured car on unadopted road, hit!

Hey all, glad to be a part of these forums...been lurking for a while!
Just after a bit of your advice if thats cool
I was in an accident a few months ago meaning I have been unable to drive for a few months. I had a car parked at the end of my road which has Tax and MOT but no insurance (I hadn't driven it for a good 2-3 months) - the road is unadopted so private and thus as far as I am/was aware, does not require insurance.
One of my neighbours (insured) hit my car while reversing and was kind enough to leave their details. The car is worth about £500 at most and when I went to get a quote from the body repairs they quoted £495!) This is too high for the lady to afford and as a result, has to go through her insurance company.
I have been insured on my car for about a month now (as I am driving it again) and we have finally got round to sorting the claim...she rang me the other day asking for my insurance company details as her insurance company wanted to know.
The big question here is...if it was uninsured at the time, what happens?! Should it all still go through ok?!
Thanks

It makes no difference to your claim. There is no need to tell her your details. Her insurers can find out if they want without contacting you.0

You can claim, but you have to contact her insurance company to do it, as you did not have insurance at the time you cannot expect them to chase the claim.
Write to the insurers and see what they say. Why is there a big delay in sorting it out? This might make it more difficult.0 -
No, you don't have to contact her insurers. Send her a letter before action, saying she has 14 days to pay for the damage she caused, and if she doesn't you will take action to recover your money from her.
That will speed things up!
She should pass this to her insurers, or pay up!
If the letter is ignored, carry out your threat and issue a claim against her via MCOL. The court fee for issuing the claim will get added on to the claim.0 -
the above is a bit harsh considering shes a neighbour and was thoughtfull enough to leave her details on the vehicle... (thousands wouldnt)
Ask her for her insurance details, speak to their third party claims team, get it sorted, wont take long!0 -
Those considerations don't really come into the advice being given.
The advice is designed to get things moving. And it's business, not personal!0
