Have a loan with AA and this is the story;
Lost job i November but managed to pay them until 20/2/09
Next due date 20/3/09

CAB wrote to them on 27/2/09 to offer token £1
Recieved letter from AA on 5/3/09 accepting installments of

MONTHLY INSTALLMENT £0.00 DUE DATE 0.00
MONTHLY INSTALLMENT £0.00 DUE DATE 0.00
MONTHLY INSTALLMENT £0.00 DUE DATE 0.00
This will be reviwed in 1 month, debt now passed to our debt collection agency.

AT THIS TIME WE WERE NOT IN ARREARS.
On 11th march i sent letter to AA claiming mis-sold insurance .
12th March got letter from DCA to say they now have debt and want full payment.
16th March got letter from DCA thanking us for paying £1 now want remaining full payment.

26th March got letter from insurance to say they uphold insurance complaint and they will contact us further.
This all seems wrong to me, what do you think?

The letter from CAB asking to pay minimal installments will have prompted the passing over to collections despite you having not missed any payments. It sounds as though they have declined to accept the repayment offer of £1.

You need to send a CCA request to the DCA, also tell them the account is in dispute (due to the missold PPI) and as such should be returned to the original creditor.

how much is outstanding on the loan and how much is the ppi you are reclaiming? I assume you are reclaiming it as it wouldnt pay out on your loss of employment?

I sent a letter to the DCA basically saying that we couldnt afford to pay and to offer £1, this was before i got the letter upholding the mis-sell.
Shall i now write to them about dispute?
The outstanding loan is for £9,535.18. I dont know how much to reclaim as it was a single premium policy.Hopefully they will work it all out.Yes, we are reclaiming as we were covered for unemployment but the exclusions were not explained to us and so was not sold in our best interests as we are not covered for what we thought we were.
