individual household items insured

i have just had another box of things from back home and now have a large collection of beatrix potter figures, 32 in all, some i know for replacement value some would be around £30 each, others are older as they are from my nans collection.

For insurance purposes i may need to get them valued, they may be worth nothing, but to replace they may be worth more, where do i start to attempt to value these. I have spoken with my insurance company and they say if i want to list them as a collection on my house hold policy i need a valuation report ? is this going to cost me much ? is it worth it ? ?
thanks for your help.

If one was taken would it demote the value of the others?

With my insurer each one would be names as an individual item and therefore does not need to be listed (we have unlimited cover)

For example the individual limite is £2000.

Maybe worth looking at another insurer anyhow
