Samsung NC10: Disk Partition

A friend of mine has just bought an NC10 which I have been looking at. Lovely little machine, but why does it come with the 160GB hard drive partitioned 80GB/80GB? I'm assuming the D drive contains the recovery partition, but why have they allowed it half the disk space? Surely 10GB would have been enough?
What's the easiest way of shrinking this partition and reallocating more space to the C drive please-something like Partition Manager? Can this be done without affecting the current data?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

the drives are done like that so you can put important data on the Non operating system partition and it will be safe when you format windows. I would leave it as it is and use the space for music, documents etc, even point your my documents folder there. thats what i would do, then when i come to format windows i know that all i need to do is run the set up and not worry about my files.

Just thought i'd point out that having a copy of a file on C: and D: will not be enough to keep it safe. As they are both on the same hard drive and a hard drive failure would therefore take out both. So remember to back up!

I've set my gf's NC10 to C:\ only (ie 160GB), which i did during the setup on the first boot. You can change the size of the partitions in XP with "Disk Management" but i'm not sure how it will affect the current data.

    PS - it's a great netbook.

    EDIT - from microsoft. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309000
Looks like you'll have to start again or use partition magic.

If you're looking to re-size the partitions Gparted (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/) will do that for you. It's free and pretty straight forward to use. It's a live cd and will do the same job as Partition Magic.
