one word of advice to play any games you MUST stay away from integrated gtraphics

dont fall for free printer etc etc

so get something with a radion 9700 or geforce equivalant

very good laptop for price is the amilo from dabs got one myself and very please with it

gamma? how on earth can you avoid integrated graphics when buying a laptop?

the radeon 9700 sounds decent enough to play the games. you're probably better going for an athlon XP or a P4 rather than a sempron though.

no cpu is not a big issue if you go for intel or athlon
    NOT CELERON OR DURON flavours

make sure you have DEDICATED graphics and not integrated thats all u need to worry about and if u can afford it get 1gig ram

This is for games remember not as much number crunching ie photo retouching and dvd encoding etc..
this will be fine for this but not ideal
    then u need 3.4 gig p4 :P :P
