    Old codger...you are right, the CE based devices are just small touchscreen computers, which can run different software.
    Personally though, I have a tomtom as I had enough bother with an ipaq to have learnt my lesson getting software from an 'interesting' source to work properly on a handheld device :)

    ...I have used navman software - boo
    ...and garmin standalones ...erm...ok but they tended to get lost more often than tomtom
