Looking to set up a saving account

Hi.
I'm new to this money-saving game.
I'm a university graduate currentley working in a minimum wage, dead end job, just turned 24 yesterday, and starting to think about the future.

I'm looking to set up some sort of bank account to save a bit of money in. I'd like to put away about £50 a month (maybe more occasionally, maybe less if necessary) for a few years. I'm not wanting to take any money out regularly, just keep putting it in, for something like 10 years minimum.

Can anyone recommend me the best place to stash my coppers to let them 'work for me'?
