hi,
i'm going to mediation on thursday and want to know what to expect.
ex wants his divorce ASAP. he has a new girlfriend again so and we have been here before, mainly when he has a new girlfriend lol
i really don't care if i get divorced as i am NEVER getting married again
ex went a few weeks ago and now its my turn-he seems to think that i will be able to get legal aid but im doubtful.
i feel really nervous, i'm scared about what he has said to them about me. i don't know why i should as they are impartial or so i'm told.
has anybody any experience?

I was involved in a different type of mediation process (more community than personal) but I found it really useful. I think the idea is to help you both to communicate more effectively with each other so I would say it's worth trying to go in with a sense of what outcomes you want. If you have kids together too it is a really good idea since it should help you sort out a 'template' of how you discuss access and custody issues.
The one thing I liked about the process was that everything was transparent. Sometimes this was a little uncomfortable but in long running disputes the water can get very muddied over what the real issues are. Mediation can help you a lot with this.
Don't be nervous, I'm not saying it's easy but it is really worthwhile...0 -
Hi Susiesue,
I've not been here for a few days so missed it when u posted originally.
How did mediation go?I've been there twice now in the last 3 years and it does help clear up certain issues. Like belfastgirl said it can get emotional but its far cheaper than the courts.0
