Morning all, lets see what glorious news the postman brings me this morning:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Lets hope it's only good news! I'm the same at the moment, just waiting for one creditor to get funny after taking on DMP myself....don't know why as all said it would be ok.....but you just know there is always something

At least your creditors were originally dealing with a company, mine have gone from making minimum payments to ME! So far so good, one success with Next (which I can't wait to get rid of), the rest are sending me the usual garbage and Bank of Scotland VISA have inferred I need to go through a DM company. I don't have anything against doing this, but I like retaining the control over the payments I make so that I have the flexibility to increase them eventually when my income has settled.:)

Well, this morning the postman brought me all the paperwork that my fee charging DMP company had on file for me! Had a quick scan through before I left for work and the amount of times that they paid my creditors late is unbelievable, despite taking my money on time each month

No wonder, they were happy when I took back control myself!! :T

Hi debt-obsessed. The postman brought me zilch, nada, nothing. I'm quite disappointed actually!

Bet you are glad you are shot of that nasty fee charging company - sounds like you will do a far better job of sorting it all out. Have all your creditors agreed to freeze interest etc still.

My postman is so sporadic at the moment, nothing has come as yet...sometimes the post arrives overnight I am sure!

Debt-obsessed - bet you can't wait to get on and pay them on time yourself. That was one of the reasons I went alone, I was being harrassed monthly stating that late payment, non payment - some months PP were paying them 3 months payments in one go....not on really!

Can I just ask is it only me that looks forward to the post arriving in a weird way!?!

    K xx

Nope. I'm with you Karen_30. Sad but true, I actually enjoy answering all these pathetic letters from creditors. Probably because I have confidence that what I am doing has worked for so many ..............:)

  • Same - I used to dread the postman but now I get disappointed when I don't have any mail!

All my creditors froze interest which is a result! Like you, I wanted to take control back so that I could increase my payments as and when. Each month i'm jiggling figures around so that I can try and bring my DF date forward! It originally stood at Nov 11 but have managed to tweak it to Oct 11.

I'm sad that I can't wait for 2010 so I can officially say "I'll be debt free next year" :D

Can you use the information in the letter to claim the fees back that you paid to the company? Its worth a try sure there is someone you can threaten reporting them too.

Debt free in 2011 - not long :)

The point rayday2 has just made is surely worth a try for debt obsessed?

    Hi everyone,

Just to let you all know I have sent of my first letters to my creditors asking them to accept a reduced payment. I sent a letter from the National Debtline website, created my budget on there and attached that along with a cheque for the first payment.

Now to wait for 4 rejection letters to come through the post!

Good luck everyone else. Feel better already!
