Mortgage Interest Support unexpected payment

In writing some weeks ago I was advised I was eligible for mortgage interest support at a weekly rate of £233.85 effective from 14 Mar - and that it would be paid in 4 weekly blocks in arrears, direct to the mortgage account.

Good.

Except my mortgage account was credited with £233.85 on 26 Mar, no letter of explanation, when I was expecting 4x that amount mid-April.

Plus the bank still demanded payment of the actual mortgage interest for the month from my current account.

Can anyone say what is going on here ?

  • Tbh i`m not sure but there has been alot of confusion with ismi, not least from the dwp itself,my payments changed 3 times in one week at the start of the year, then they had the cheek to reclaim £9 they had overpaid to my lender.

I think you will find that the payment in March was for just the one week or so and you will then get another payment of 4 weeks worth 23rd April. But if in doubt give them a call.
