Norwich Union £20 M&S Vouchers with Car Insurance Renewal

I received an offer when my renewal for my cars was comming from NU. If i renewed within 14 days i would get £20 M&S vouchers per car.
Simple enough...so i called up thier call centre and asked them about the deal. I was told that the vouchers would come within 5 days with my new policy documents. So i renewed my insurance and again asked the question at which point i was told i would get it within 5 days.
The policy documents came but no vouchers. When i called up again i was told that i would not get the vouchers but infact get forms after 28 days of the start date of my insurance. I fill in these forms and than wait another 14 days to get my vouchers. So suddently 5 days becomes 56 days (14 days renew before the policy expires than 28 days and than 14 days again).
This was clearly silly so i asked for a copy of the phone call under the DPA which was given to me. The call recording clearly brought out the two instances when the call centre person told me it would arrive after 5 days. I complained about this, but three times over the phone i was fobbed off. I than complained via email but got nowhere and finally NU have simply asked me to go to the ombudsman.
While my complains where going on i decided to check if this was a one off or what is a selling tactic. So i called up as a potential customer 4 times over 1 week, only to be told the same thing, the vouchers will come in 5 days.
Again i told this to the NU Customer services rep, but again they refuse to acknowledge this is clearly not a mistake.
My question is: Has anybody else been sold policies like this by NU, because i just want to find out if this is a one off or is this a regular occurance.
Many thanks.

I can appreciate your annoyance, but they have said they are on their way - just not as quickly as you would like.
Go to the Ombudsman if you really want - but the vouchers will arrive before the Ombudsman's decision!0 -
I am not worried about the vouchers...all i want to find out is from the experience of others....is this a selling tactic or just a mistake....looks more like a selling tactic if i have heard it 4 times already.0
