Far as I can tell its OK as long as the car is under 10 yrs old when you buy the cover.

Yes you can get the cheaper cover. The good news is that the minimum type of cover they offer for cars over 10 years old is more comprehensive.

Your daughter will get a free upgrade. ;)

Not according to the AA. Ok this year, it'll just cost more next year.

She will get a free upgrade in September for the remainder of her policy year. It goes without saying that the following year it will be more expensive. But if the car is under 10 years old now....and becomes 10 years old during the policy year, you are upgraded, free of charge, to the minimum cover required for a 10 year old car.

Are you aware that the £27 cover you are looking at is Roadside Cover, what this means is it provides assistance eg labour at the side of the road. However if they cannot fix the car they will normally just tow it to the nearest garage. They do not normally either bring the car back to your home or take it to the original destination.

If you want the cover that brings the car home or takes it to the original destination you need to take out "Relay" cover.

It might be worth looking at some cashback sites which might be able to give you a discount eg

    I hope this helps
