I have just reached second stage for a great job in a small charity fundraising. I have loads of expereince in charity work but only a little in Fund raising. I have been honest and they want someone that is willing to learn (which is me) But....
The presentation they have set is quite daunting. I have organised large events before but not a ball to raise money; so my plee is any good books websites that i should take a look at? I have already been to the institute of fundraising.
Your help would be very greatly appreciated. I really want this job and it would mean me and hubby can pay of our debt even quicker :j

Media Trust? I think I remember some info there about organising events, the site is certainly worth a look and making reference to it shows you are 'on the ball'!Signature removed for peace of mind0

A friend of mine who works in community regeneration mentioned that there are computer programmes call fundfinder or grantsomething? that organisations use to match available funding to projects. If the charity hasn't got it, it might be worth suggesting it if you get the job.

Good Luck
The alternative to buying these things is to know where you can access them. For example you can book a session to look for grants using programs you have to pay for at our local VCS! But knowing they're available in the first place is a good start!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Re your presentation. How about a version of Strictly Come Dancing as the highlight of the ball with contestants having to bid for a place and an auction with donated dance related prizes eg bop with the mayor, dance lesson at local dance studio. Be creative - they're not expecting you to actually arrange what you present
.
Try and make your presentation as humourous as you can, it's such a relief for the interviewing panel ! There are lots dance related cartoons on the net if you have a hunt around and you can use them in a powerpoint presentation or put them on acetates for an OHP. Hope this helps and good luck.0
