My brother has not been billed for gas since moving into his property (new built) 3 and half years ago.He is looking to move at the end of the year and is wondering what will happen with regard to the gas..will he be charged for all the gas he's used in the 3 and a half year?? When he moved in he said he thought the gas supplier would simply get in touch like the electricity did..he put a few quid aside for when they did but it never happened and its gone on that long he's just forgotten about it.Can anyone advise?

I think he needs to find out who supplier is and pay for the whole lot. There may be a goodwill discount from supplier but I don't think they're obliged to do this if there is no evidence that he made enquiries and tried to set up an account.0
