Nope. That's what comes from not reading the article. And I do seem to remember that last months house price fall was 2%. And the most recent prediction was for a fall larger than that.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

looks like lostinrates was right to predict a slowdown but not a riseindependant wrote:the Hometrack survey of estate agents, which is also published today, will reveal house prices fell just 0.6 per cent in March – the slowest rate of decline since last spring. Over the past year, prices have fallen just over 10 per cent.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

this IS 1993 news...naughty DD.
though not a bad thing to remind people that there were +ves amongst the -ves during the previous crash.
although, having started in 1989, its a bit premature to hope we are at the 1993 equivalent quite so quickly;

more like around 1991, waiting patiently for 1995/6..
(subject to area/region, etc, calls may be recorded, shares may go down, down then maybe up for a while etc)
unfortunately Land Registry's nice easy graph creator, does not go back before 1995; so this doesn't quite cover the period in question, but gives an indication of the fluid prices over the later stages of the last crash;

"ON CUE with the arrival of spring, and the surge in interest that the season traditionally generates, the Nationwide building society reports a 1 per cent rise in house prices for March. This coincides with reports by estate agents around the country of increased activity and shows that, following a similar rise in January and a 1.4 per cent fall in February, the big slide has practically stopped."

Huh, what?
I don't get it, it's an article from 1993? Is this optimism in a new guise?
EDIT: Sorry, see people have already picked up on it, must remember to read the thread first!!
var articleheadline = "Property: March house prices rise by 1 per cent "; Property: March house prices rise by 1 per cent
