i need help on the following topic. i am about to recieve a property from one of my family member.
i have to pay some money but i can give half in cash and the rest i will have to get a mortgage (or a loan) for. my question is this
do i need a solicitor/ lawyer to make up the paperworks (if so how much? and can anybody recommend someone by PM)

Not an expert but by the sound of it almost certainly - YES. You're paying the family member so, even if it's cheap, you're purchasing the property. You will need a solicitor to check there are no problems with the title and register it in your name. All mortgage lenders insist that a lawyer or licensed conveyancer is used to ensure their legal charge is properly dealt with and their money is held safely until the sale goes through and it's paid over to your family member.
Can't advise on a specific solicitor. Friends, family or work colleagues might be a good start or contact 2 or 3 local sol's who do this type of work and get quotes.
