Serious Payday Loan Problem!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi I'm new to this site.
I'm after some advice as I've found myself in a desperate situation. I have 6 outstanding payday loans totalling £1200 that were due to be repaid today. I know I was stupid to take these in the 1st place but as my annual bonus was due, it easily covered these along with my usual wages. I got paid yesterday but my bank account got hacked into and before I even knew, all my money was stolen out of my account. I've been left with nothing. The bank could'nt give me an overdraft or a loan because of my poor credit rating and they have advised that they will investigate but this can take some time and I may not get any money back at all. My boss can't advance me anything and I have no friends or family that I can call on to help. I wrote to these payday companies last night explaining the situation and offering a repayment plan but I'm at work today and have had constant e-mails and calls from them asking where their money is. I'm so worried, I don't have any money for rent or food and even the local credit union can't help. I'm scared I'm gonna have debt collectors on the door and I don't even have anything of value for them to take. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

That certainly is a serious problem.
Why does the bank claim that you might not be able to get the money back? Are they trying to blame you that you might have disclosed your debit card details???0 -
Basically yes, which I know I have'nt. But they said until they complete their investigation, there is nothing they can do.0

Hacked?
What do you mean?
Where did the money go to? Another account? Merchants/Shops? A cashed cheque?
I think you need to be a little more precise with the information, not that the Payday Loan companies will really care.
Expect to receive at least 6 calls a day (one from each) on your home, work and mobile telephone numbers from annoying american/irish accented phone jockeys, until you pay up
Plus extra "fees" of course0 -
Have you tried to ring CAB for an advice how to deal with the bank? They will try to dismiss you, I think you need to be ready to fight.
Why won't your employer give you an advance?0 -
On a lighter note.
Don't worry about their threats, most of them are based in the US where attachment to earnings (or Garnishing orders) are easy to come by.
No debt collector (bailiff) can call until the case has gone to county court.
I suggest you prepare a repayment proposal plan in writing for all of them and insist that all correspondence is in writing only.0 -
The bank won't do anything as they say that the payments were authorised online with my debit card. The guy I spoke to at the bank said they had 4 people in the branch yesterday with the same problem as me.
The banks fraud department have already phoned me today and I've spoken to the police as well, on the banks say so, but they can only trace the "payments" being taken from my card in India, but I've never ever been there!!!!
I already pre-empted their phone calls and threats by sending them proposals yesterday in the post with post dated cheques for all payments and asking for everything to be in writing. They either have'nt had these yet or are just ignoring them.
My boss won't advance me anything cos hes just done all the wages for the month and paid me £2700 with my bonus alone. We are only a small/medium sized firm.
I just tried speaking to CCCS for any advice, but no luck there.0 -
So if it was over the internet, how could they know you actually authorised it?? They will try anything to avoid loosing out..
I've read about this somewhere... I'll try to find it.0 -

Unless he means a payday loans shop in the UK where they usually use some very unsavoury characters.0 -

So 5 people from the same branch all got hacked online on the same day ? What were you trying to buy ? It sounds it could be the ATM scam with 5 of you getting done.Ask the bank if they have CCTV footage.0
