Kitchen Quote - is this reasonable

We are looking at getting a new fully fitted kitchen complete with new appliances and just had a quote from a local kitchen place. We liked them as they were professional, provided a decent service and weren't pushy at all however having never bought a new kitchen before we are totally unaware of whether the price is fair or not (and I understand it depends on a lot of factors.

Our kitchen is around 9ft by 14ft and the units would cover three sides almost in a horseshoe shape. The quote was broken down as follows:

Kitchen Units - www.wentworthkitchens.co.uk - approx £8k
Appliances - Siemens Fully integrated - wall mounted oven/grill, dishwasher, Full size tall fridge/freezer - approx £1.5k
Sink and Taps - ceramic integrated sink
Under unit lighting
Tiles - allowance for £50 per sqm tiles
Flooring - laminate flooring (to cover kitchen and hallway which is small)
Fitting and Instillation - approx £2k

I can't quite recall exact pricing for the smaller things mentioned above but the total quote was around £14k. This is higher than I had imagined and I do appreciate the units are from quite a good quality manufacturer and the appliances are also higher end quality. However I'm unsure of whether this is a good quote in total particularly the instillation quote of £2k. Any comments much appreciated!

installation is what I got too, from multiple people, so the £2k mark sounds reasonable, it's the rest that sounds quite high I guess

Hi, This seems OK for a Wentworth kitchen but what door style have you specified? Wentworth is the brand name for Mereway. John Lewis' own brand kitchens are also made by Mereway. We also sell Mereway kitchens and I think they are pretty much the best English production line rigid carcase kitchen.

Does your quote also include laminate worktops?

Fitting might seem a bit high but it depends on what needs doing etc.

    Good luck.

Our quote was just via a local company down in Essex.

Yes sorry the quote did include worktops. It included pretty much everything.

Sounds like it's an ok quote for what we are getting then. I can't remember the name of the door style off the top of my head.

    Hi,

The door is fairly important as there can be as much as 50% difference on the cabinetry price depending on the door.

Anyway, I am sure you will be pleased with the quality of the cabinetry.
