Should I opt for Sainsbury's Card Care? Need Help!

Hi everyone

Am applying for my first credit card and it's with Sainsbury's. I know from MSE not to opt for the Credit Care Scheme but I don't know if I should opt for Card Care (Breakdown cover for your wallet) starting at £15 per year

Would be very grateful for advice

If it's the arrangement whereby you can cancel all your cards with one call if you lose your wallet, it's useful to have but you can get it cheaper than £15 (eg £10 from Card Protection Plan).

If it's not that, what is it? Need to know more to advise you.

The following is what the site explains it as:

Card Care can provide a 24 hour loss reporting service, combined with emergency assistance and a range of insurance benefits

Is this what CCP is for £10 if so how do I go about getting it at that price separate from S'bury's CC?

but on their website they want £20 these days. I get this via Nationwide who only charge me a tenner.

It is worth shopping around everyone you have a financial relationship with - banks, card issuers etc. - to see if you can get the same cover cheaper than Sainsbury's. It can sometimes be cheaper for couples than for individuals.

That said, the Sainsbury's deal sounds reasonable.
