This might be a stupid question to some of you. Can you use blank dvd to burn cd. I understand with the dvd, you can burn more data e.g if I want to burn a compilation of two or three albums on the dvd whereas I will be more limited with a CD. Thanks

DVD players will (well... most modern ones) play CDs and DVD audio (the DVD equivalent). What you won't be able to do is play a DVD in a CD player, such as your car.
Check your DVD player and it may well be able to play MP3's, in which case you can record a huge amount of albums onto a DVD and play them through your dvd player
