Hi Everyone,
This is my first post but i'm a long time reader of the forums. I'm hoping that one of you would be able to offer me some advice.
I bank with the Nationwide however my account only has a cash card. I'm fed up not being able to make payments electroniclay so asked the bank for an upgrade however they refused as i have a default on my account.
I'm happy with the Nationwide though if i knew an account I could get which provides a debit card by means then I would move.
My current credit situation is bizare as I'm currently fighting with 3 companies to update my credit record so this dosn't help. Currently i have 1 default which has been paid off but is on my record. All other accounts are paid and settled however I am waiting for 3 to update the records.
Does anyone have any suggestons to what bank would give me a debit card? I don't need overdrafts or anything. It's taken me a couple of years to get all these debts fixed and now that i feel i'm getting somewhere i'm being told by my bank they wont give me a debit card until the default has left my account, potentialy 5 years away.
Cheers,
G..

Try opening a basic bank account. A list of providers are listed on this website: http://www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk/pdfs/bank_accounts.pdf0

Halifax Easycash is one account with a large provider that does what you're asking for.0
