Just a quick question. Are most of the estate agents properties advertised on rightmove?
If not what are the main ones that aren't?
Thanks

Where are you based?
I would say yes, most are advertised on rightmove. Where I live every agent uses them.
Sometimes in London you'll find the odd agent on either propertyfinder or findaproperty (I can't remember which) that isn't on rightmove but you'll find most properties on either of those on rightmove as well.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'd heard that many agents have cut back on all their advertising, including on Rightmove. Where I am it seems that only 2 or 3 of our local estate agents are still on Rightmove (out of 7 EAs in total).0

I will keeping looking on rightmove then.

Hi,
You should be aware that it can usually take up to 2 days for Rightmove to list properties on their website - you will therefore miss out on any really good properties, which may have been snapped up directly from the agents website.
That said, if you install Property Bee (I think that's what it is called), you can view the history of changes that each property has encountered (E.g. description changes, price changes, length of time ms has been on there etc) when looking ont he Rightmove site.
Thanks,

We used Rightmove or drove round the area and looked at the boards and if they weren't on Rightmove went to the agent's site.
A word of warning (althoguh this may be common knowledge) don't use prime location. We contacted a coupld of agencies to view properties only to be told they'd gone a couple asked where we'd seen them we said primelocation and they said that PL 'steal' their details from other sites and so they don't get removed when a property is off the market.

I would always mostly use Rightmove, but it's worth trying a few other sources of information as well. We viewed a house a few weeks ago that I've never seen on any website - we just happened to see the board through the trees from a public footpath. The house we are in the middle of buying (fingers crossed) wasn't on Rightmove and didn't have a board, I found it on a website I'd never heard of. It's worth really getting to know which estate agents operate in your area and checking their own websites regularly.0
